Sinopsis

El bayberry (Myrica cerifera), también conocido como mirto de cera, es un arbusto aromático nativo del sureste de los Estados Unidos, valorado tradicionalmente por su corteza, raíces y bayas cerosas. Si bien las bayas se usaban históricamente para hacer velas, la corteza de la raíz es la parte principal utilizada en la medicina herbal por sus potentes propiedades astringentes, antimicrobianas y estimulantes de la circulación.

La corteza de la raíz de bayberry contiene taninos, resinas, triterpenos y aceites volátiles, que contribuyen a su capacidad para:
