Licorice root (Glycyrrhiza glabra) has a long history of use in traditional herbal medicine systems, such as Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Ayurveda, where it is believed to support a variety of body systems, including the lymphatic system. In these traditions, licorice root is often used as a harmonizing herb in herbal formulas, thought to clear heat and toxins, and to promote the movement of fluids within the body, which includes lymph. However, the direct association between licorice root and specific support for the lymphatic system is not well-established in traditional texts; rather, its use is inferred based on its general "detoxifying" and anti-inflammatory properties.

From a scientific perspective, there is limited evidence to support the specific use of licorice root for lymphatic system support.
