In traditional Chinese medicine, green tea is believed to have "cooling" properties and is sometimes used to help clear heat and phlegm from the body, which can include symptoms like nasal congestion. Additionally, the warmth and steam from drinking hot green tea may provide temporary relief by helping to open nasal passages, much like any other warm beverage.
