The scientific rationale for its use is well-established: magnesium compounds neutralize excess gastric acid in the stomach, thereby providing symptomatic relief from acid-related discomfort.
Numerous clinical and pharmacological studies have documented the acid-neutralizing capacity of magnesium salts. When magnesium hydroxide reacts with hydrochloric acid in the stomach, it forms magnesium chloride and water, effectively reducing acidity.
