Zinc plays a crucial role in the male reproductive system, and its use is supported by scientific evidence. Zinc is an essential trace mineral involved in numerous biological processes, including DNA synthesis, cell division, and hormone metabolism. Several studies have demonstrated that zinc deficiency can negatively impact male fertility by reducing testosterone levels, impairing sperm production, and decreasing sperm motility and quality. For example, a study published in "Nutrition" (1996) showed that dietary zinc restriction in healthy men led to significant declines in serum testosterone levels. Another study in "Fertility and Sterility" (2009) found that zinc supplementation improved sperm quality and quantity in infertile men with low zinc levels.

Additionally, zinc has antioxidant properties that help protect sperm from oxidative damage, which is a recognized factor in male infertility. The World Health Organization recognizes zinc as an essential nutrient for normal male reproductive function. However, while there is consistent evidence that zinc supplementation can benefit men with zinc deficiency or suboptimal reproductive health, supplementation beyond recommended dietary amounts is not necessarily beneficial and may even be harmful. Overall, the scientific literature supports the use of zinc to support the male reproductive system, particularly in cases of deficiency.
