In these traditions, different parts of the Tamarix plant (such as leaves, bark, and galls) have been used to address a range of ailments, including respiratory conditions like bronchitis. Ethnobotanical surveys and traditional medical texts (such as those documenting Unani and Ayurvedic practices) mention the use of Tamarix preparations (often infused as teas or decoctions) for their supposed expectorant, anti-inflammatory, and soothing effects on the respiratory tract.
