In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Fang-Feng is occasionally used to support the treatment of bites and stings, particularly those that result in swelling, itching, or allergic-type skin reactions. This use is rooted in its classification as a herb that "expels wind" and alleviates surface conditions. However, there is very limited scientific evidence to support its efficacy specifically for bites and stings. Most modern research focuses on its anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and anti-allergic properties in general rather than on envenomation or insect bites. The historical texts, such as the "Shennong Bencao Jing" and other materia medica, mention its use for wind-related skin issues, which may include responses to bites or stings, but do not describe direct or primary use for these conditions.
