Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) has been investigated as a supportive agent in the management of allergies, including food allergies, due to its antioxidant and immunomodulatory properties. The scientific rationale is that vitamin C can help reduce oxidative stress and modulate inflammatory pathways, which are both implicated in allergic responses. Some studies suggest that vitamin C may decrease histamine levels in the blood, potentially reducing the severity of allergic symptoms.
