Oldenlandia diffusa (also known as Hedyotis diffusa or Bai Hua She She Cao in traditional Chinese medicine) has a long history of use in traditional medicine, particularly in East Asia, for the treatment of abscesses and other inflammatory conditions. In traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), it is commonly prescribed for its 'heat-clearing' and 'detoxifying' properties, which are believed to help reduce swelling, resolve pus, and promote healing in cases of abscesses, boils, and carbuncles.
