Scientific evidence suggests Brassica vegetables contain glucosinolates, which are broken down into biologically active compounds such as sulforaphane. Sulforaphane has demonstrated protective effects against Helicobacter pylori infection, a common cause of gastritis and peptic ulcers, by inhibiting bacterial growth and reducing gastric inflammation. Additionally, epidemiological studies indicate an inverse relationship between Brassica consumption and the risk of gastric cancer.
