Scientific research has explored green tea’s influence on gastrointestinal health, including the small intestine. Some studies suggest that green tea catechins may modulate gut microbiota, inhibit the growth of pathogenic bacteria, and support mucosal health. There is also limited evidence that green tea may reduce inflammation and oxidative stress in the intestines due to its antioxidant properties. However, most research has focused on broader gastrointestinal health or on conditions like inflammatory bowel disease, rather than directly supporting a specific function of the small intestine in healthy individuals.
