Fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum) has a long history of traditional use in various cultures to support male reproductive health, particularly for enhancing libido and vitality. In recent years, several scientific studies have examined its effects on male reproductive parameters, especially testosterone levels and sexual function. A number of randomized controlled trials have found that standardized fenugreek extracts can modestly increase serum testosterone levels, improve libido, and support sexual performance in healthy men and those with mild androgen deficiency. For example, a 2011 study published in Phytotherapy Research showed that men given a fenugreek supplement reported increased sexual arousal and orgasm, compared to a placebo group. Another study in 2017 in the journal Aging Male reported improvements in testosterone levels and symptoms related to androgen deficiency.

Proposed mechanisms for these effects include fenugreek's content of furostanolic saponins (such as protodioscin), which may help inhibit enzymes that break down testosterone, and its potential to influence insulin and androgen pathways. However, while results are promising, studies are often small, of limited duration, and sometimes funded by supplement manufacturers. More large-scale, independent trials are needed to confirm efficacy and determine long-term safety. Overall, the evidence base is growing but not yet definitive, justifying a moderate evidence rating.
