Ledebouriella, most commonly referring to Ledebouriella seseloides (now known as Saposhnikovia divaricata), is a traditional medicinal herb used in East Asian medicine, particularly within Chinese herbal practices. It is known as "Fang Feng" in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Historically, Fang Feng is primarily classified as a remedy for "wind" conditions, such as headaches, rheumatism, and skin disorders. Its use for swollen lymph nodes or glands is not a major traditional indication, but it sometimes appears in formulas aimed at dispelling "wind-heat" or alleviating external pathogens, which can include symptoms like swelling or sore throat—conditions that may include or be associated with lymphatic swelling. However, its direct use for specifically treating swollen lymph nodes is limited and not a primary traditional application. There is little to no scientific evidence from modern clinical studies to support its efficacy for this particular condition. Most references to Ledebouriella's role in addressing swollen glands are based on its general immunomodulatory or anti-inflammatory effects observed in laboratory studies, not on direct clinical trials for lymphadenopathy.
