Renewing your Nature’s Sunshine Consultant Membership

NOTE: This information is about the Nature’s Sunshine Consultant Membership and its annual fee and is provided as a service to our customers who may also be Nature’s Sunshine Consultants.

It is important to note that Nature’s Sunshine will NOT charge you the $40 membership fee unless you ask them to. Therefore, if you know for sure that you do not want to renew your membership, it is safe to stop reading at this point and do nothing.

Also, please note that Caring Sunshine is not involved in your membership with Nature’s Sunshine and will not charge any fees or renew you either. You are welcome to order from us regardless of your membership status with Nature’s Sunshine.

Over the years, if you asked us to, we have enrolled many of you in Nature’s Sunshine as members, and you may have recently gotten emails from Nature’s Sunshine about renewing your membership for a $40 fee. While your Nature’s Sunshine membership does not impact orders you place at Caring Sunshine or the prices you receive, here is some information that may help you know whether you should renew:

History

Through September 2020, Nature’s Sunshine had only one kind of membership, which was free with a $40 purchase. Everyone had this membership, from a huge store buying thousands/month to a small family buying a few items every few months.

In September 2020, Nature’s Sunshine began offering two different memberships:

  • The Consultant membership (for those that wanted to sell the products to others and build a business)
  • The Customer membership (for those that only want to purchase products for themselves).

Nature’s Sunshine made a decision at that time to convert everyone that was already a member into a Consultant (rather than trying to guess whether the member should be a Consultant or a Customer). If you are reading this, it is likely that you were signed up under the original free membership and were converted to a Consultant on September 1, 2021.

The Consultant membership is the more versatile and valuable membership. However, it does cost $40/year. That is why Consultants who were converted in September 2020 were contacted at the end of August 2021 and asked to pay $40 to renew their membership for another year.

Because many of these converted Consultants are really just customers who are not interested in selling Nature’s Sunshine, some are questioning whether they should pay the $40 to renew. We know this because many of you have called us! So, here are a few quick things to know that will guide you to the right decision.

Should you pay the $40 to renew your Consultant membership?

  • Whether you have an active Consultant membership with Nature’s Sunshine does not impact in any way whether you can order from Caring Sunshine or what prices you pay at Caring Sunshine. The membership is with Nature’s Sunshine, not Caring Sunshine.
  • If you receive commission payments from your Nature’s Sunshine membership, you should almost certainly pay the $40 to renew your membership. If you do not do so, those commissions will be at risk going forward.
  • If you place large orders (over $500), you should possibly pay the $40 to renew your membership because Nature’s Sunshine offers volume discounts on large orders for Consultants.
  • If you do not receive commission payments from Nature’s Sunshine AND you do not place orders over $500, you should probably not spend the $40 to renew your membership UNLESS you are interested in selling the products going forward.
  • If you decide to renew your membership, you must do it with Nature’s Sunshine directly. We do not have the ability to renew memberships. You can reach them by signing in at naturessunshine.com or calling them at 800-223-8225.
  • If you do not contact Nature’s Sunshine and ask them to renew your membership, you will NOT get charged a fee.
  • If you do not renew your Consultant membership, you will automatically get downgraded to a Customer membership, which is a free membership.
