Palm-Leaf Raspberry (Rubus palmatus or similar species) has a history of traditional use in various herbal medicine systems, particularly in East Asia. In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), certain raspberry species (often referred to as "Fu Pen Zi") are used to support urinary health, including addressing frequent urination, urinary incontinence, and nocturia. The berries and sometimes the leaves are believed to help "tonify the kidneys and secure essence," which, in TCM theory, is closely related to urinary function. Despite this longstanding traditional application, there is a lack of robust clinical or pharmacological studies directly validating the effect of Palm-Leaf Raspberry on the urinary system in humans.
