Fo-Ti (Polygonum multiflorum), also known as He Shou Wu, is a traditional Chinese medicinal herb primarily used to promote longevity, support hair health, and boost vitality. Its main historical uses are for liver and kidney health as conceptualized in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), where “kidney” does not necessarily equate to the anatomical kidneys of Western medicine or directly to the urinary system. There is some overlap in TCM between the concepts of kidney health and certain urinary functions, but Fo-Ti is not primarily or specifically used in TCM or other traditional systems to support the urinary system per se, such as promoting urination, treating urinary tract infections, or supporting bladder health.
