Rating (out of 5): 1

Lingzhi (also known as Reishi or Ganoderma lucidum) has a long history of use in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), where it is believed to support respiratory health, including the sinuses. Classical texts describe Lingzhi as having properties that "nourish the lungs" and "relieve cough and asthma," and by extension, it is sometimes included in formulas aimed at overall respiratory and sinus support. However, direct traditional references to sinus-specific benefits are limited, and the use for sinus health is generally extrapolated from its broader role in supporting lung and immune function.

From a scientific perspective, studies have shown that Lingzhi possesses anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory, and antioxidant properties. These effects theoretically could support sinus health by reducing inflammation in the nasal passages and enhancing immune responses to respiratory pathogens. However, there is a lack of high-quality clinical trials specifically evaluating Lingzhi for sinusitis or sinus-related conditions in humans. Most of the available evidence comes from animal studies or in vitro research, which does not directly translate to confirmed efficacy in humans.

In summary, the use of Lingzhi for sinus support is rooted primarily in traditional practice rather than robust scientific validation. Evidence supporting its specific efficacy for sinus health is currently limited and indirect.
