Agnuside is a key iridoid glycoside found in the fruit of Vitex agnus-castus (chaste tree), a plant traditionally used in European and Mediterranean herbal medicine to support reproductive health, especially in women. The use of Vitex agnus-castus for menstrual disorders, premenstrual syndrome (PMS), and other reproductive system concerns dates back to ancient Greece and Rome, where it was believed to influence hormonal balance.
