Vitamin B12 (Hydroxycobalamin) is scientifically validated as a treatment for pernicious anemia. Pernicious anemia is an autoimmune condition that impairs the absorption of vitamin B12 in the gastrointestinal tract due to the destruction of intrinsic factor, a protein required for B12 absorption in the ileum. Without sufficient B12, the body cannot produce healthy red blood cells, leading to megaloblastic anemia and neurological complications.
