Shataverins are steroidal saponins found in the roots of Asparagus racemosus, commonly known as Shatavari, an important herb in Ayurvedic medicine. The rationale in Ayurveda is that Shatavari acts as a "rasayana" (rejuvenative) for the female reproductive system, believed to nourish and balance hormones.
