Arginine silicate inositol (ASI) is a complex of arginine, silicon, and inositol that has been studied for its potential effects on muscle performance and recovery. Arginine is a precursor to nitric oxide, a compound that can promote vasodilation and increase blood flow, which is theorized to aid in nutrient delivery to muscles during exercise. Limited clinical research suggests that supplementation with ASI may improve some aspects of muscle performance. For example, a few small, randomized, placebo-controlled trials have reported that ASI supplementation can increase muscle pump, perceived energy, and some measures of strength or power output in resistance-trained subjects. One such study published in the "Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition" (2015) found improvements in leg press strength and muscle recovery markers in subjects who consumed ASI versus placebo.

However, the number of human studies remains small, and sample sizes are limited. The overall evidence is considered preliminary, with a need for larger and more rigorous trials to confirm the effects and elucidate the mechanisms. While the proposed benefits are plausible based on the known physiology of arginine and silicon, current support for ASI as a muscle support supplement is modest and not yet robust. Therefore, the evidence rating is currently low to moderate (2/5), reflecting promising but insufficiently established scientific support.
