Butea superba is primarily used in traditional medicine, especially in Thailand, to support male sexual function and treat infertility. The plant has a long history of use as an aphrodisiac and is sometimes referred to as "Red Kwao Krua." The roots are believed to enhance male virility, increase sexual desire, and improve reproductive health. Most of the evidence for its use in infertility comes from anecdotal reports and traditional practices rather than robust scientific studies.

Some limited preclinical studies and a few small clinical trials have explored the effects of Butea superba on male sexual function, such as erectile dysfunction, but there is minimal direct research on its impact on infertility or sperm parameters.
