Sandalwood (Santalum album) has a long history of use in traditional medicine systems, especially in Ayurveda and traditional Chinese medicine. In these traditions, sandalwood is considered to have cooling, calming, and balancing properties, and has been used for a variety of purposes, including to support the body's overall wellness. References to sandalwood supporting the "glandular system" are not well-defined in traditional texts, but it has sometimes been associated with supporting the endocrine system due to its perceived balancing effects on the body and mind. However, there is little to no direct scientific evidence linking sandalwood or its essential oil constituents to measurable support or modulation of the human glandular (endocrine) system.
