Polyphenols are not directly studied as a primary treatment for gas and bloating, but their effects on gut health and the microbiome provide plausible mechanisms for relief.
Several studies have demonstrated that polyphenols can modulate the composition and activity of the gut microbiota, promoting the growth of beneficial bacteria and inhibiting potentially harmful species.
