Thai kudzu, also known as Pueraria mirifica, has a long history of use in traditional Thai medicine, particularly for supporting women's health and the female reproductive system. Traditional practitioners have used its tuberous root as a rejuvenating and vitality-promoting tonic for women, especially for menopause-related symptoms such as hot flashes, vaginal dryness, and mood swings. The use is based largely on its natural phytoestrogen content, notably miroestrol and deoxymiroestrol, which are thought to have estrogen-like effects in the body. While there are some small-scale clinical studies and animal research suggesting that extracts of Pueraria mirifica may modestly alleviate menopausal symptoms and influence estrogenic activity, the evidence is not robust or large-scale enough to be considered scientifically validated. Most of the support for its use in the female reproductive system remains rooted in traditional practice and anecdotal reports rather than strong clinical trials.
