Rating (out of 5): 1

Cluster Fig (Ficus racemosa), also known as Gular or Udumbara, has a long history of use in various traditional medicinal systems, particularly in Ayurveda and other South Asian practices. In these systems, different parts of the plant—including the bark, fruit, and leaves—have been used for a variety of ailments. Its use for treating dizziness is primarily based on traditional knowledge rather than rigorous scientific validation. In Ayurvedic texts, Cluster Fig is sometimes described as having properties that "balance the doshas," support general vitality, or address conditions that may be interpreted as dizziness or light-headedness, often attributed to imbalances in "Vata" or "Pitta" doshas. However, these traditional uses are not specifically corroborated by modern clinical research. Scientific studies on Ficus racemosa have mostly focused on its potential anti-inflammatory, anti-diabetic, and antioxidant properties, not on its effects for dizziness or vertigo. There is a lack of controlled trials or pharmacological studies directly investigating its efficacy for dizziness in humans. Thus, while Cluster Fig is used traditionally for related symptoms, the evidence supporting its use for dizziness is weak and mostly anecdotal.
