Rating (out of 5): 2

Ligandrol (also known as LGD-4033) is a selective androgen receptor modulator (SARM) that has drawn research interest for its anabolic effects on muscle and bone. Preclinical animal studies have demonstrated that Ligandrol can increase bone mineral density and strength, suggesting potential for supporting bone repair and treating conditions such as osteoporosis. Mechanistically, Ligandrol binds to androgen receptors in bone and muscle tissues, stimulating protein synthesis and promoting bone formation while minimizing undesirable androgenic effects seen with traditional anabolic steroids.

However, clinical evidence in humans remains extremely limited. Most human studies have focused on muscle wasting disorders, and only a few small, early-phase trials have assessed bone health outcomes. There is currently insufficient published clinical data showing significant benefit in accelerating fracture healing or directly treating broken bones. As a result, while the scientific rationale exists based on preclinical findings, the evidence for Ligandrol’s use in supporting or treating broken bones in humans is weak and not yet validated in well-designed clinical trials. Its use for this indication remains experimental and is not approved by regulatory agencies.
