Amino acids, the building blocks of proteins, are essential for overall health, including the function of the female reproductive system. There is scientific evidence to suggest that adequate intake of essential amino acids supports hormone production, ovarian function, and overall reproductive health. For example, amino acids such as L-arginine have been studied for their role in improving blood flow to reproductive organs, which may benefit conditions like infertility or endometrial health. Additionally, some studies indicate that amino acid supplementation may improve ovarian response in women undergoing assisted reproductive technologies (ART), though results are mixed and more research is needed.

However, while a balanced diet with adequate protein and amino acids is clearly important for maintaining normal reproductive function, there is limited high-quality evidence supporting the use of isolated amino acid supplements specifically for targeting female reproductive health outside of clinical settings. Most benefits are based on the role of amino acids in general physiology, rather than on targeted supplementation for reproductive outcomes.
