Eleutheroside refers to a group of compounds found in Eleutherococcus senticosus (Siberian ginseng). Traditionally, Siberian ginseng has been used in Russian and Chinese herbal medicine as an adaptogen—an agent believed to help the body resist physical, chemical, and biological stress. The concept of supporting the "cortisol body system" aligns with the adaptogenic idea, as cortisol is the main hormone involved in the stress response. However, while traditional use is robust and there are some animal and in vitro studies suggesting possible modulation of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis, rigorous clinical evidence in humans is limited.

Some small-scale human studies and reviews (e.g., Panossian & Wikman, 2009; Kennedy et al., 2001) suggest Eleutherococcus may help improve stress adaptation and reduce fatigue, but these effects are not consistently linked to direct cortisol modulation. The specific effects of eleutherosides (the active compounds) on cortisol levels in humans are not well established, and most clinical trials are of low methodological quality. Therefore, the use of Eleutheroside to support cortisol function is primarily justified by traditional herbal practice rather than strong scientific validation.

In summary, the use of Eleutheroside for supporting the cortisol body system is based on traditional adaptogenic claims, with limited and inconclusive scientific support.
