Bovine liver has been used in traditional and naturopathic medicine with the belief that consuming animal organs can support the corresponding organs in the human body—an idea known as the "doctrine of signatures" or "like supports like." In this tradition, consuming adrenal or liver tissues from animals is thought to nourish and support human adrenal function. However, scientific evidence specifically linking bovine liver consumption to improved adrenal gland function in humans is lacking. Bovine liver is a rich source of nutrients such as vitamin A, B vitamins (especially B12), iron, and trace minerals, all of which are important for general health and could indirectly support energy levels and stress resilience. However, there are no clinical trials or robust scientific studies demonstrating that eating bovine liver directly benefits adrenal gland health or function. The use of bovine liver for adrenal support remains largely rooted in traditional practices rather than validated by modern scientific research.
