  • AIDS (advanced HIV): The immune system is severely weakened, leading to opportunistic infections or cancers.

More Severe Causes (Complications):

  • Opportunistic cancers: Such as Kaposi's sarcoma, non-Hodgkin lymphoma, or invasive cervical cancer.
